Farmers and CSOs express concern over WTO conditionalities on India's agricultural subsidy regime

Indian farmers organizations and civil society groups expressed serious concern over India - US agreement over public stockholding issue at the WTO negotiation. In a letter to commerce minister they argued that Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA) needs to be rejected not only as a strategy but on its own lack of merit.

Desde la educación al transporte, pasando por las finanzas o la salud, el nuevo Acuerdo sobre el Comercio de Servicios (TISA) plantea amenazas serias para la calidad de los servicios que ofrecen distintos sectores públicos que afectan a la vida de los ciudadanos y ciudadanas. Este es uno de los resultados del primer Foro Mundial sobre el Comercio de Servicios, celebrado en Ginebra el 17 de octubre de 2014, organizado conjuntamente por la Internacional de Servicios Públicos (ISP), la Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) y la red Our World Is Not For Sale (OWINFS).

El Foro Mundial de la ISP sobre el Comercio de Servicios, organizado conjuntamente con la Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) y la red Our World Is Not For Sale (OWINFS), será la primera conferencia mundial que planteará una perspectiva crítica al TISA. Reunirá a los principales expertos y expertas en la materia, a representantes sindicales del sector público y privado, de la sociedad civil y de gobiernos de todo el mundo, que compartirán información sobre el TISA. Analizarán las amenazas que este plantea a los servicios públicos, la democracia y los trabajadores/as y programarán acciones de respuesta a sus elementos perniciosos.
