Debunking Five Myths About the Korea-U.S. Free Trade Agreement (KORUS FTA)

Over the next two weeks, Korean and U.S. trade negotiators plan to meet behind closed doors with hopes of reaching an agreement on the Korus FTA before March 31 deadline. In response, South Korean civil society is heightening its resistance with strong actions planned by the Korean Alliance Against the Korea-US FTA until early April. A relay hunger strike began on March 19, 2007, and by the end of the month, over 1,000 South Koreans representing a broad sector of civil society are expected to join.
